After graduating with a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College, I jumped back and forth between pursuing my license as a therapist and working with college students.​
​
As a pre-licensed therapist in rural mid-Florida, there were only contract therapy jobs available, and nearly all the nonprofits in the county had "morality clauses" prohibiting LGBTQIA+ "lifestyles."
​
I decided to go into higher ed for a reliable paycheck while earning hours toward my license on the side, usually working or volunteering in 1-2 roles outside of my full-time position.
